“বাপের রাস্তা” is “father’s road” — the jab is “do you own it?”

The name is a line Dhaka drivers already know. The game turns that jab into a short run in a battery auto.

Word by word

বাপের is “father’s.” রাস্তা is “road.” Together they are “father’s road.” The spoken line is রাস্তা কি তোর বাপের? The English guide translates it as “Is this road your father’s?” and then, in plain English, “Do you own the road?” The polite menu line রাস্তা কি আপনার বাপের? swaps তোর for আপনার. I keep both, because the guide prints the sharp one and the menu prints the polite one.

Who made it

The about page signs the game Omar Faruqe Riyad, a software engineer in Dhaka. Prothom Alo and Jagonews24 both say he grew up in Chattogram, studied computer science at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, lives in Mohakhali, and works in Mirpur. He told Prothom Alo he has no quarrel with auto drivers and wants rules and accountability. Some search blurbs spell the surname Faruque. I use the spelling on the about page.

Why it spread

Prothom Alo, dated 25 Oct 2026, reported more than 100,000 plays across the Friday and Saturday after launch, citing the maker’s analytics. The about page, dated through 2 Nov 2026, lists 620K players, 5.5M runs, and 132,000+ hours. Those are two readings of a moving count, not one merged total. Dhaka Tribune ran a feature on 3 Nov 2026. The short rounds, the newspaper front page, and the tea-money bit are easy to clip.

Names that are not this game

  • Bapesta is a shoe. The stuck-together spelling baperrasta collides with it in search.
  • Rasta on its own is a different word, tied to Rastafari.
  • রাস্তা তোমার বাপের নাকি is the same street jab in another song, not a second title for this game.

Questions

What does Baper Rasta mean?

“Father’s road.” The line রাস্তা কি তোর বাপের? means “Is this road your father’s?” — do you own the road?

Who made Baper Rasta?

Omar Faruqe Riyad. That spelling is the one on the official about page. Some blurbs add a u and write Faruque.

Why is Baper Rasta popular?

Prothom Alo reported 100,000+ plays in two days, and the about page later listed 620K players through 2 Nov 2026. The joke is a local one, and a run is short enough to share.
